How to Type Fractions in Microsoft Word

in this tutorial I’m going to show you how to create a fraction using the equation field now the great thing about these fractions is that you can create whichever fraction you would like and also they are easy to modify so what I want to do is called down control and f9 e f9 will be found at the top of the keyboard ctrl f9 will insert these filled braces now between the filled braces you need to type the following eq space backslash f brackets now here you just need to type your fraction so I’m going to do 1 comma 2 close bracket then what you need to do is right click on this and go toggle field codes and this will create your fraction so here I’m going to create an addition I’m going to go plus then instead of having to do that all again I’m just going to highlight it go copy and then paste now if you want to modify the second fraction it’s very simple you just highlight it right click and go to ball field codes now here if I just want to make that 1/5 I just change the two and again right click and go toggle field codes now if I want to make this a mixed fraction it’s very easy I just put the cursor in front of that and then just write 2 and then again here put the cursor in front and write a 3 there now another good thing about this type of fraction is that you can change the size of it and also the font so if I highlight that and go up here and choose Arial you’ll see that the font will change not only of the numbers but also of the fraction if I want to increase the size again that’s very simple
